Re: Media backlash against the West Ham board
This goes deeper than just a media backlash.

We don't need to be told constantly by outside forces that our owners are muppets (we all know that). But they're our fucking muppets right now!

There are all sorts jumping on the bandwagon of 'who the fuck do little old West Ham' think they are with their managerial expectations. (Fergurson of Everton being that latest one).

Those clubs in the top tier don't like the fact that perhaps (and it's a big perhaps) they might be challenged by another club.

There are members of the media associated with those 'bigger' clubs who are wary of what we might one day be and simply dont like it!

Re: Media backlash against the West Ham board
Well said Scorchio.

"The Media" is only responding to the very real and completely justified mood of discontent from the fans, who are also fed up of what's going on at their club.

As for naming names, it’s not called "putting flesh on the bones of a story", it's called "dropping people in the shit".

Re: Media backlash against the West Ham board
What's completely missing from Whetstone's argument is the only reason the media has seized upon this story of West Ham being a shambles is because enough of our fans were sick enough of how things were being run that they had to resort to:

A) forming action groups
B) forcing the board to meet them (and when that failed to get them anywhere)
C) organising a march
D) Storming the pitch and director's box after the march was sabotaged, very likely by club ownership.

Convenient that none of that is mentioned. That's what lead to the media 'backlash'.They are only saying what us supporters have been saying for the last 18 months.

So this article is an absolute load of old self serving, agenda driven defensive rubbish. If you're really a fan Mr Whetstone, then you should utterly hang your head in shame and get out of the board's pocket.
